Healthy Eating

One of my goals for 2019 is to eat healthy & maintain a healthier lifestyle. So far, I have been developing healthy eating habits. I challenged myself to refrain from eating at fast food restaurants, except for an occasional splurge at Chick Fil A or Subway. A few months into this new year & I have yet to eat fast food & I have only enjoyed Chick Fil A on a few occasions. For me, eating healthy is a preference & a choice I make daily. More importantly, it’s a lifestyle & one that I have been enjoying for awhile now. After years of eating junk food, fast food, & drinking more soda than I’d like to admit, it feels amazing to fuel my body with nutrients & good food. I have not had any caffeine in almost a year & finally have learned to crave & enjoy water. I love making healthy meals for lunch & dinner as well. Recently I have incorporated several new snacks into my life that are healthy yet satisfying. I love to have fruit, Skinny Girl popcorn, veggies or sweet potato & brown sugar chips as an afternoon or evening snack. In order to maintain a healthy eating routine, I like to hold myself accountable for what I eat or drink. It’s okay to indulge in a few cocktails or glasses of wine over the weekend or to have a dessert or not-so-healthy meal. Just remember- indulging is fine, in moderation.
