Hey y’all I want to take some time to talk about healthy eating. As I continue on my fitness journey, I’m constantly trying new healthy meals & snacks. Lately I have started getting into meal prepping & it’s making life so much easier! I love cooking a big meal & prepping portions for future meals. Last night after making tacos, I was able to portion out enough for at least two more meals that I plan to convert into taco bowls. I also love to make pasta for meal prep because my husband & I eat it once a week. I have found that chicken & rice meals, prepped in separate containers, are also a good option in our household. Every week I meal prep some of my favorite veggies- cucumbers, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes & broccoli. I use these veggies throughout the week as an afternoon snack or as a light lunch, in addition to a cup of yogurt or bowl of soup. I portion the veggies in separate containers, based on their purpose: afternoon snack or light lunch. I enjoy eating veggies with a fat free ranch or light balsamic vinegarette dressing. For breakfast, I just discovered overnight oats & they are delicious & so simple to prep! You just add milk & let them refrigerate overnight, then breakfast is waiting for you in the morning! There are so many options when it comes to meal prep but I have found it’s best to do what works for you & your household. I’m still in the learning process with portion control & meal prepping but so far I’m loving it! It makes meal time more simple & quick since your meals are practically ready to go, just reheat & eat! Do y’all meal prep? What are some of your favorite meals to make during the week?

Sundress Sunday
Whether you’re off to church or brunch, a sundress is always a great choice. I am loving sundresses for this spring & summer. Anything from solid colors to floral prints or stripes, there are so many darling sundresses. Lately I am obsessing over palm prints & stripes. I have found some adorable palm print dresses & rompers on Amazon that are on my list of must haves. When it comes to stripes, I love this pink & white one that I found on Pink Lily Boutique’s website. It would be perfect as a swimsuit coverup or for a day date. Best of all, it’s under $40 y’all! What are your favorite patterns? Do you like to wear sundresses?
Friday Faves
Hey Y’all this week certainly has been crazy but luckily the weekend is here! That means I’ll be sharing some of my favorite things I’m loving this week. First I must mention my self tanner & tanning mitt I got from Walmart for under $20! I’m so ready to be tanning in the sun by the pool all summer long, but for now this will give me the glow I miss so much. I love the tanning mitt because I no longer have to stress over getting my hands messy & it makes the application process so effortless. This week I’ve also started doing yoga fat burning workouts & it’s such a great way to burn calories! There’s something about yoga y’all- it’s a great workout but so relaxing at the same time. Another thing I’ve been enjoying this week is my new fat burning drink. It’s a simple recipe I’ll list below this blog post & it really energizes me & is great first thing in the morning or after lunch. Last but not least, I’ve started shopping for swimsuits on Amazon this week & found so many that are super cute! I’m obsessed with palm prints & florals this year, especially because I love the beach & these seem so beach appropriate. There are several flattering styles to choose from & many of the swimsuits are under $30! Who can resist a great deal like that, right? What are you looking forward to doing this summer?
Fat Burning Drink “Potion”:
1tsp apple cider vinegar
Dash of cayenne pepper
Dash of cinnamon
Freshly squeezed lemon (I use half)
10-12 oz water or sparkling water
Swimsuit Season
I can’t believe Spring is just about in full swing here in the South! Y’all I have always loved the sun, tanning & swimming. Although I have two drawers full of swimsuits ( I may have a slight obsession), I’m already planning on new swimsuits for this summer. Recently I have discovered some absolutely adorable swimsuits on Amazon. There’s one with palm trees print that I can’t stop thinking about & it’s under $20! There have been a few other options on Amazon & at Target for under $50, which is still fairly budget friendly. This summer I’m thinking about trying a few cute & fashionable one piece swimsuits. When it comes to bikinis, I prefer cheeky bottoms or high waisted bottoms. As for swimsuit tops, I love bandeaus & halters. What swimsuit styles do you prefer? What are your favorite swimsuit brands?
Five of my Faves
As I get older, my style has begun to evolve a bit. Lately I find myself loving outfits I never would have considered wearing a few years ago. There are so many new things I am loving but for now, I want to share my top five favorites with y’all. First I’ll start with towel headbands, which are great for applying makeup or washing your face in the mornings & evenings. I love how adorable the ones with bows are & how easily it keeps my hair out of the way. Another thing I just love these days is a good pair of beige wedges. I have some denim dresses, vests, shirts, & a denim jumpsuit that will go great with the perfect pair of beige wedges. Since I’m only 5’4, wearing wedges will help when wearing a long flowy maxi dress this Spring. I’m also becoming obsessed with jumpsuits, mostly because they make me feel that I’m dressing cute but age appropriate. Another thing I’m loving is scrunchies, the perfect hair accessory to make a messy bun or high ponytail feel really “put together”. It doesn’t hurt that wearing scrunchies makes me feel young again! On this list of favorites, I must also include rompers, simply because I am super obsessed with them! There are tons to choose from but I love the ones I’ve bought on Amazon & at Target the most. They look chic, the colors are beautiful & the prices are perfect on a budget. What are y’all loving for the Spring?
Talk Fashion Tuesday
Hey y’all I hope everyone is having a great start to their week so far. Here in Louisiana it’s starting to feel more like Spring everyday. For me that means light colors, sundresses, sandals & flip flops! This Spring, I have decided to wear more dresses & rompers instead of resorting to my favorite denim shorts. I love Spring-inspired colors like lavender, mint green & yellow. I am determined to find the perfect yellow sundress, denim jumpsuit, & tan or beige wedges. Of course, I like to shop on a budget & believe it or not, it is possible! I recently discovered some amazing deals on Amazon & I have been building a wish list like crazy! I have found adorable beach coverups, a precious pale blue one-piece swimsuit, as well as a few rompers that will be perfect for the beach. These items have all been under $30!! I don’t know about y’all but I’ll take a great deal any day! Where do you shop on a budget? What are your favorite Springtime outfits?
Weekend Wardrobe
Every weekend I seem to be faced with the same question- what will I wear? I’ve always been a change-my-outfit a few times a day kind of girl. But really all I need is a daytime outfit & one for the evening. I usually plan my outfit around the activity or occasion ahead. For instance, today was a casual lavender tank top with high waisted denim shorts & beige flip flops. This is mostly because I was only running errands & doing some light Spring cleaning all morning. Tonight, however, we are having a bowling date night. This outfit will be casual & comfortable as well but since it will be night time, I’m choosing to dress it up with accessories. I plan to wear a crimson lace tank top with high waisted denim shorts & my short brown boots. Then I’ll add a dainty silver necklace & bracelet so I can feel a little dolled up but not out of place in such a casual environment. Do you like to accessorize? What are some of your favorite styles for date night?
Fashion Friday
Happy Friday Y’all! We have survived another week & now it’s time to kickstart the weekend. For my husband & I that means a date night out. We typically like to grab dinner & a movie, go bowling, or go to a local daquiri shop to play pool or darts. Whatever we end up doing, I know I’ll be wearing a cute date night outfit, once I can choose one! Who else likes to “shop” their closet for the perfect outfit? I enjoy trying to match outfits according to my mood, the occasion, & the weather of course! With the Spring nearly here in the South, I’m ready to bring out all of my favorite colors & outfits. I love anything blush pink, coral, or turquoise. This Spring & Summer I want to step out of my comfort zone a bit & start wearing white shorts or jeans. Even a cute pair of white jeggings or capris would look adorable with a bright color top. Since we plan to have a beach vacation this summer, I’ll definitely need the perfect maxi dress or beach appropriate sundress as well. I know that choosing the perfect outfit may be a process, but the hassle will all be worth it. For me, there’s just something about a cute outfit that brings out more confidence. How do you choose the perfect outfit? Is it a spontaneous or planned out choice? What are your favorite Spring styles?
Got Smoothies?
Hey y’all I know I’ve mentioned this before but I LOVE my morning smoothie. I used to struggle making smoothies with my regular blender, so I decided to try the Magic Bullet. I was always curious to see what the hype was all about & if it was really so simple to use. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it truly is easy to use. With my Magic Bullet, I can effortlessly make a delicious smoothie within minutes! Now I’m always trying new recipes & having smoothies for breakfast daily, even when I’m on the go! Do you like smoothies? What blender do you use?
My Morning Routine
Every morning I wake up when my husband gets up & ready for work. Since I’m a stay at home wife, my day doesn’t necessarily need to be planned all out. But I have always been a planner & someone who really enjoys having a routine. So after I wake up the first thing I do is make a smoothie. Lately I’ve been having smoothies with either strawberries or bananas, yogurt & honey. It’s the best way to really get some of my nutrients & gets me feeling ready to start my day. Then I workout, sometimes at home & sometimes I go to the gym. I LOVE doing cardio lately & free weights. Usually I do crunches, lunges, squats, jumping jacks, planks, climbers & other floor routines. This year my goal is to live healthier, eat better, & workout more consistently. I plan to show up for myself & to hold myself accountable for my health & fitness. Working out always puts me in a great mood & allows me to clear my mind & focus on the day ahead. After my workout, I have some water while I make a “to-do list” for that day. This allows me to be productive each day & feel accomplished as I complete the tasks on my list. Next, I take a shower & set out to accomplish the tasks on my “to-do list” in order of importance. What does your morning routine look like? Do you make a “to-do list” or just “wing it”?
